Corporal PETER EDWARDS has been killed in action in France. In his letters he often referred to club mates in the firing line. He first played with Sturt in 1911, and was one of the cleanest sportsman can in the district. Previously at Houghton he was "the star" of the district, and he was a decided acquisition to the"double blues." Although living at Edwardstown, some miles from Unley, irrespective of weather, he pushed a bicycle to the Unley Oval on training nights and was most regular in his attendance. When his people were thinking of leaving the Sturt district he decided to retire from league football, as "he couldn't wholeheartedly play against his mates. His death is deeply regretted.
