THE LATE PRIVATE A. J. JOHNSTON.
Private A. J. Johnston, whose mother (Mrs. S. Winter) resides at Lanor avenue, Hyde Park, was 31 years of age. He was a surveyor and was for some time a member of the Government survey camp in the Northern Territory. He enlisted at Adelaide on December 15 last, and left for the front on March 10 with the 15th Reinforcements of the 3rd Light Horse. He died in Egypt on June 5.

THE LATE PRIVATE JOSE.
Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Jose, of Wayville West, have received information from the military authorities that their second son Prívale Harold Newlyn Jose who was reported missing on July 20, I916 was killed in action on that date. He was 23 years of age, and enlisted in July 1915. He sailed vith the 32nd Battilion in November. He was in the employ of Messrs. Hitchcox Bros., and was a member of the Halifax street Methodist Church. A younger brother enlisted at the same time and is still on service

QMR.-SGT. JUDELL.Qmr.-Sgt. E. M. Judell, of B Squadron, 9h Light Horse Regiment, was killed in action at Gallipoli on August 9. He was the third son of Mr. L. Judell, of Northgate street, Unley Park, and was born at Orroroo. He joined the 17th Regiment of Light Horse at Orroroo some eight years ago (the regiment being then under Lieut.Col. T. Hancock), and was a good shot and a keen horseman. After spending threeyrears at Roseworthy College he was one of the first to take up blocks at the Pekina Creek irrigation scheme, and carried on dairying with fair success. Subsequently, when droughty conditions prevailed, he joined the well-known firm of Messrs, L. Judell & Co., and took charge of the Spalding branch of the business. Qmr. Sgt.Judell enlisted early in September, and went to Broadmeadows, Melbourne. He was 25 years of age, and was most popular, being of a very lovable disposition. A younger brother, Cedric, enlisted a few months ago, and is now in Egypt.
