News has been received by Mrs. J Kent, Opey Avenue, Hyde Park, of the death of her only son, Second-Lieut. Edgar Kent, in action in France on August 22. Lieut. Kent left South Australia in October 1914, and took part on the landing at Gallipoli, where he was slightly wounded. He returned to the front within a week, and went through the rest of the campaign. He was employed in Messrs. R .G. Dun & Co's office from the time he left school until his enlistment. He was a keen lacrosseur, and was connected with the Sturt Club for several years, latterly as captain of the B team.

BROKEN HILL, December 10.
Mr. W. Kieswetter, the licencee of the Sportsman's Arm Hotel, has received word that his brother, Pte. Oscar Lennard Kieswetter, was killed in action on the western front on November 29. Pte. Kieswetter was accepted for service on the fourth occasion on which he presented himself, and had been serving on the western front since May last. He is a son of Mr. Henry Kieswetter, who was well known in Broken Hill

Private FRED. JOHNSTON KNOWLING, of a machine gun squadron of the Australian Light Horse, youngest son of Mrs. Knowling, of Fairford street, Unley, has died of wounds in Palestine. He was born at Tothill's Creek 26 years ago, and was employed in the general stores of Mr. M.Partridge (Saddleworth) and Mr. T. Wiltshire (Blyth). Subsequently he was in partnership with his brother (Mr. R. B. Knowling) on a farm at Wirrega.
